I needed to fix my wristwatches, so I walked into the shop where I bought one of them. I met this beautiful lady who fixed it within seconds. Out of excitement that she could fix and polish a watch within such a short time, I asked if she fixes watches from other makes. Prior to this time I had gone to a few shops to fix one of my watches and I was told I needed to change the engine. She said yes and got to work on it immediately. Shorter than she did on her brand, my watch started working. So, I got talking with her immediately. I wanted to know what she did that others didn’t know or do. Guess what she said to me “I never planned to stay in this company this long but when I couldn’t get my desired job including leaving the country, I had to go beyond selling watches. I had to pay money to go and learn how to repair watches. I also train myself regularly. As I speak to you there is no wristwatch I cannot repair. Repairing wristwatches has put more money in my pocket than salary. It h…

I know words won’t take away your pain.
But I’m here for you.
When you feel like no one cares, I do.
I’m here for you.
When others judge, or criticize, or roll their eyes, I won’t.
I’m here for you.
If it’s 3 am and you don’t want to burden anyone, call me.
I’m here for you.
If it seems so dark and the walls are closing in, I’ll be your light and guide you.
I’m here for you.
If you feel like no one understands, I do. I’ve been there.
And I’m here for you.
When you can think of nothing good to say about yourself, I have a long list of good I see in you,
right here for you.
When you can think of no reason to go on, I will be your reason.
I need to be here for you.
When you are upset for no reason, you don’t need to give me a reason
to be here for you.
When you don’t want advice or a lecture, and you just need someone to sit with you,
I’ll sit here with you.
When you feel like you have failed, you haven’t.
You were here for me. Now I’m here for you.

As high as anyone could imagine You wanted to fly Fly high But you have lost your wings You cannot boast of a feather Your dreams were so lofty Your ideas lovely But you cannot achieve any
What happened?
You thought you were in control You thought you were strong willed You thought no one could influence you So you hung out You hung out with them Drowning ones looking for who would drown along You became a regular Now you are lost Now you cannot find your ground

You are now a slave Slave to your addictions Slave to those substance The chain of abuse strangles you The one on your hand The one you cannot do without now
You need help Things can change There is no sense living on what ruins you Seek help Stop the abuse of drugs
Say NO to Drug Abuse

“Where there is no work, there is no dignity.” Pope Francis

“I believe in the dignity of labor, whether with head or hand; that the world owes no man a living but that it owes every man an opportunity to make a living.” John D. Rockefeller

“Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle."
Abraham Lincoln

Better a dirty earner than a decent beggar Stella Obokoh

Roll your sleeves Go get a job Get a pay Get busy
If you need to get dirty Please do If you need to make it marshy Please do If you need to lift it up Please go ahead If you need to push it No matter how little Make an effort Make sure your hands are busy
It may not be your best now But get busy Earn your living While you wait for that blue-chip call Stop being a decent Begger When you can be a dirty earner There is dignity in labor Roll your sleeves Get busy

The ink The ink that flows  Flows through the mind to the fingers Penning down the thoughts it brings Penning down the imaginations it creates Penning down the pictures it paints It flows as the fingers stroke the pad It flows as it listens to self It flow when it shuts out clatters Penning things down to be viewed and considered
This ink has the greatest capacity This ink is efficient This ink is powerful It has the power to imagine anything and everything is possible The power to imagine that there are no limitations anywhere The power to imagine that ‘cannot’ is vague The power to imagine that ‘never’ is void

This ink likes to explore This ink likes to paint The capacity of this ink is still beyond comprehension Can go as long as it can be stretched Flows as long as it is in use Dries up the day it is no longer needed

What birthed these beasts? Who made them strong? Why murder another to prove a point? Why shed innocent blood? How does it solve your problem? Where are our leaders?
Why the gruesome killings?
When we are not at war
Our children are our future Our children are our perfect treasures Why drag them into your fight Why waste the blood of a child Why make them orphans Why deny them life
The blood of the innocent cries against you Your doom is here I bleed for my land I bleed for our future

THE WILL TO WIN By Berton Braley (1882 - 1966)

If you want a thing bad enough
To go out and fight for it,
Work day and night for it,
Give up your time and your peace and
your sleep for it

If only desire of it
Makes you quite mad enough
Never to tire of it,
Makes you hold all other things tawdry
and cheap for it

If life seems all empty and useless without it
And all that you scheme and you dream is about it,

If gladly you'll sweat for it,
Fret for it, Plan for it,
Lose all your terror of God or man for it,

If you'll simply go after that thing that you want.
With all your capacity,
Strength and sagacity,
Faith, hope and confidence, stern pertinacity,

If neither cold poverty, famished and gaunt,
Nor sickness nor pain
Of body or brain
Can turn you away from the thing that you want,

If dogged and grim you besiege and beset it,
You'll get it!
By Berton Braley (1882 - 1966)

Who shelters in silence and lets the world judge on what they think it was? Who pampers a wound instead of letting it heal? Who remains in grief over a spilled milk instead of looking for a solution? Who remains distraught over a broken bottle instead of trashing the mess and moving on?
I chose to drop a baggage that won’t let be I tried not to carry it but couldn’t I tried to walk away from it but people who knew me would always remind me it was mine I tried to talk less of it but they wouldn’t stop referring to it So I felt I was stuck with it I was trapped with it
Everywhere I went, I felt everyone knew my story Every look looked suspicious I weighed every pleasantry thinking it would lead to it In a bid to stay off being reminded I avoided my oldies Cried all night every time I thought of it Couldn’t get over blaming myself Placed myself on a ‘sob diet’ This baggage plagued me
But come to think of it Was I the only one who had such past? Was I the only one who couldn’t get off it? Sobbing in my close…

ONE By Shawnee Kellie

One word can spark a moment,
One flower can wake the dream;
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald Spring.
One smile can bring a friendship,
One handclasp can lift a soul;
One star can guide a ship at sea,
One cheer can obtain a goal.
One vote can change a Nation,
One sunbeam can lift a room;
One candle wipes out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom.
One look can change two lives;
One kiss can make love bloom.
One step must start each journey,
One word must start each prayer;
One hope can raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.
One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can know what's true;
One life can make a difference,
One life is me and you....

Which are you to me? Friend or  foe! Let me know before I spill Let me know before I relax Let me know before I let my hair down
Friends are real to themselves Available for each other Care for each other Not out to find faults Watch each other’s back Tell each other the truth
Friends can do crazy things Crazy things just to make each other happy Friends share anything From ice creams to chocolates From cakes to drinks From berries to cherries From ribbons to lipsticks From tears to laughter From moments to experiences
Celebrate each other’s achievements Concerned about each other’s growth Commend each other’s effort Compliment each other’s advancement
Happy moments, there to celebrate Sad moments, there to cheer up Sorrowful moments, there to console Down times, there to give a helping hand
Respect each other’s values Regard each other’s feeling Respond to each other’s needs
So let me know Let me know before I let you in
